This experience continues with a guided tour of the Museum Archives, where guests will enjoy a sneak peek of historical Valentine items from the Museum’s collection. To make the day even more memorable, you’ll have the chance to create your own Valentine card using a mini printing press – perfect to take home or share with someone special.
Remembering Tokyo 1964
A glimpse at Markham’s Olympic memories. An intimate conversation with Markham Olympic Silver Medalist Bill Crothers (Tokyo 1964) and Order of Canada Journalist and news anchor Lloyd Robertson whose first overseas assignment was the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games. Conrad Black Lecture
On June 10, 2015, the Friends of Markham Museum hosted bestselling historian Conrad Black for an installment of their Lecture Series from 7 to 9 p.m. at Markham Museum. He presented his newest book Rise to Greatness: A History of Canada from the Vikings to the Present. Book signing followed the lecture.
Marti Latta Lecture
On April 23, 2014 the Friends of the Museum hosted Professor Marti Latta, a member of the Ontario Archaeology Society since 1968, for an installment of their lecture series from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Markham Museum. She presented her research on The Ashbridge Estate, a significant site built by one of the founding families of York (now Toronto).
